The original TTA London club, we’ve been training in the City of London for over 10 years.
The club instructors are Ms Charlotte Foong, 2nd Dan and Mr Anthony Cornwell, 2nd Dan.
We’re very friendly and you are welcome to come along to try out the class without having to commit to it. Your first two classes are free!
Our next special sessions for beginners are:
- 6th and 8th Aug
If you can, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you’d like to come.
Your first two sessions are free. The monthly subscription is £55 per month, which is reduced to £40 for the first 3 months. There are also charges for your annual licence, dobok (uniform) and gradings, but these are easiest to explain in person when you come along.
Tuesdays: Golden Lane Sport and Fitness
The Tuesday evening venue is a short walk from Barbican tube. Coming out of Barbican tube station, turn left, cross to Fann Street and you will find the Shakespeare pub on your left. Once you pass the Shakespeare pub you should veer diagonally left past it and head down the steps that you come to. The reception is at the far end of the tennis courts, just let them know you are there for taekwondo.Golden Lane Sport and Fitness, Fann Street, Barbican, EC1Y 0SH

Q: I’m an adult. Is this for me?
A: Yes! The Barbican club is currently only for adults (sorry, kids!) and it’s never too late to start.
Q: I’m a child. Is this for me?
Q: What shall I wear?
A: Any sports clothing is fine to begin. If you decide to join the club we’ll arrange for you to get a dobok (uniform). Normally people wear tracksuit bottoms or shorts and a t-shirt to their first few sessions. We train in bare feet, so it’s best if your tracksuit bottoms aren’t so long that you might stand on them.
Q: Are there special sessions just for beginners?
A: Yes, we regularly run sessions for new beginners at our Tuesday and Thursday venues. We are a really friendly club, but know from experience (we were all beginners once!), that it can be very daunting walking into a hall with a lot of strangers in martial arts uniform and some people wearing black belts! We will make every effort to make you feel welcome before the class starts and let you ask any questions you may have, so please pluck up the courage to come in!
