Team Chamionships 2024
This year’s TTA Team Championships took place on Sunday 28th April 2024 with excellent performances from students from across the TTA London clubs.
Teams from TTA London Peckham, TTA London Barbican, TTA London Charlton, , TTA London Southwark and TTA London Tower Bridge provide strong and enthusiastic competitors in both kyorugi (sparring) and poomsae (patterns), as well as distinguished performances from a range of new and returning officials (to referee, score and ring manage the sparring fights).
Fantastic effort for all students who took part in this year’s Championships, whether for the first or second time, or as returning regulars. For everyone who competed or officiated, there were lots of valuable lessons learnt throughout the day that we will all now be diligently apply in our training ready for the TTA Team Championships next year.
Below, the clubs recap their experiences from the day, and we share all the results from across the competition for each London club.
Finally, we also want to thank Grandmaster Loh (TTA chief instructor and 9th Dan) for another excellent competition and who personally capped the day off with an excellent demonstration of fingertip piercing (sonkut tulki) through multiple boards.
Reflections from the day
Rudi (2nd kup), TTA London Peckham: “The tournament was a really good experience especially fighting someone who is more senior than you or has a higher belt than you because it helps you learn from your mistakes and become better. It was really fun watching and cheering on friends whilst they fought as well as performing the poomsae with them. The taekwondo tournament is a time to show off your skills as well as learning new ones. I really enjoyed the tournament this year xx”
3rd Dan instructor and coach: “Overall, it was a fantastic performance across the board from all the various London Teams. The level of success in the medals doesn’t reflect the hard work and determination shown by everyone. From the organisation that goes behind the Kihapp system, the logistics and efforts from instructors in getting so many competitors and officials to Glasgow and the performance and endurance of those competing and undertaking officials roles. Huge round of applause and congratulations to every one of you. Looking forward to November all ready. PILSUNG LONDON”
